Our client had downsized to a townhouse, but she had brought some beautiful furniture pieces and accessories with her. However, the only items in the living room were a baby grand piano and a beautiful antique tallboy chest. The space was not very large, so she wanted to move the piano to the upstairs loft. With the piano gone, we were left with an almost empty area to fill. The room is narrow, so we brought in a loveseat and a lounge chair with matching upholstered ottoman. Our client wanted a fireplace, so we contacted a contractor to add a gas one with a carved French surround in limestone. She loved the insert that we found (so do we!), and the contractor constructed a box frame for the wall-mounted TV so that we could add the custom frame surrounding it. We had custom silk draperies made to correlate with the paint color and the fabrics we had selected for the upholstered pieces. Crystal wall sconces, a small French antique table, and a glass table lamp were purchased to complete the room. We then extended the wall color with stripes up the staircase wall leading to the loft area. The soft peachy tones work well with her existing Oriental rug and create a lovely, soft glow.
